ROYAL SOLDIER

This was a fun project I did with my friend and colleague Simone Sarasso (yes, another project together!). It takes place in Italy during the Italian Risorgimento (1815-1871), the historical period when Italy was born as a nation.

We suppose that a superhero contributed to unifying Italy!
A very stubborn and quite stupid superhero, I have to say.
He represents Italy, for better and for worse.

I did some of the most intricate illustrations of my career, here.
And we did a performance with those illustrations, too, in Marsilia, back in 2014.

It was supposed to be published here in Italy but we never reached an agreement with the publisher.
